Wow! Red is back and it is RED HOT…everyone is wearing RED lips! Reds are a little tricky to pull off, specially on the lips – make sure you pick out the right red, either a warm or a cool red and also don’t forget that with such a strong lip you want to play down the eyes, if you are uneasy about which red looks good on you, make sure you ask a Makeup Artist!

I’ve been making over brides for the last 12 years. A lot of brides are overwhelmed planning their wedding and managing a budget at the same time. As an experienced wedding vendor and a former Mother of the Bride I feel like I should stress the importance of a Makeup Artist on the day of your wedding. As with the money that is invested in a photographer you want to make sure you also invest in a professional Makeup Artist. These pictures are your precious possessions! They are the only thing you have left after the day has passed. As a bride you want to make sure you look your best in those pictures. Don’t spend thousands on a photographer and then skimp on a Makeup Artist.
If you need to save money scale back on flowers or decorations. Although you do want to set a mood and personalize your reception, most guests will not remember the table settings but they will remember how beautiful and radiant you looked walking down the aisle.
Some inexpensive wedding ideas:
For a beach wedding use shells, beach glass, sand and/or candles in vases instead of flowers. For an autumn wedding use branches, leaves and gourds. For a summer wedding vases look beautiful filled with fruit.
Print pictures of the bride and groom throughout their lives, and scatter them on the tables. This encourages guests to go from table to table looking at pictures and also helps spark conversation. To make them more cohesive crop them tight and print them in black and white.

Okay, so Fall is almost here, put those summer colors away, we’re going to loose our tanned golden skin so…liven it up with some new colors!!! Start with your eyeshadow and change it to Terracotta, Goldspun, Cognac and Sunstone colors then on your lips have fun with Toasted colors and yes use a plumper! Plumpers are wonderful and sexy! Also don’t forget…1st line lip all over so everything will last longer. Now for cheeks, go with a cinnamon color or a flush of pink either will be fine for fall!
A lot of people ask me what the difference is between waterproof mascara and water resistant mascara and which I recommend. Water proof mascara is too harsh on the eyelashes for everyday use. If you are using it every day try switching to water-resistant mascara instead. It will give your eyelashes the inky sheen you are looking for without smudging, and it is much easier to remove. Save the water proof mascara for the trip to the beach.
